General Archaeological Assistant

May 2008 - Sep 2008
Started off as 5 week work experience as part of my BSc. I assisted on an evaluation excavation, watching brief and identifying bones out in the field. In the office I carried out finds processing where I also helped local school children for their work experience. Other duties were to carry out historical research about Tudor House Museum using records and censuses; also had to repatriate skeletal legs with the rest of their skeletons from a previous project. I was then taken on as full time staff where I helped out with a building recording and carried on with finds processing. I then drove to a romano-british site carrying equipment from office to site. Whilst at site I helped with the excavation. I excavated an animal creamation, flint deposit and various sections of ditches. Show less
