For almost two full years, I volunteered my time for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. My college, Ramapo College of New Jersey, offers the chance for students to mentor elementary aged students in this after school program. Activities included helping with homework and participating in problem solving projects. This was an incredibly rewarding experience that I will not soon forget. Autism Family Times is a small organization run through the Autism Society of America. For a few short years I had the opportunity to befriend many special individuals with a variety of disabilities. The program was run one Friday every month and the idea was to provide a safe fun space for these individuals to hang out on a Friday night like their peers would.
