At Hy-Vee I was the Starbucks Manager, I had taken over after someone was let go from the company. When I took over the department there were only 4 certified baristas and within 3 months I had grown the team to 10, a couple of months later I had grown the team to 15 baristas along with 3 barista trainers and one additional "manager." Through this I had to sharpen my process improving skills, employee selection, and work on changing the culture back to what it should have been. Before we knew it, we were the #1 Starbucks within the Twin-Cities Metro for Hy-Vee. Our sales were exceeding $10,500 a week which may not seem like a lot, but when I started we were barely getting $500/day. Due to the success of the department I was nominated as Manager of the Quarter for Starbucks which was not an easy feat. I was the Starbucks and Target Cafe Team lead. I started at Target as a cashier at a point where I had needed a second job, and came to the point that I would work at Target full time once the Starbucks and Target Cafe position became open. During this time I increased both our sales and customer experience scores for Starbucks along with re-training multiple employees to meet the standards and procedures of both areas. Through my time at McDonalds I started as a crew member while I was going to school in Marshall, and over the summer I quickly moved up the ladder first as a crew trainer, shortly after a shift manager, and after a year in the shift manager role I became a department manager. I rotated through each department that we had which included customer service, kitchen, and people which included being our human resources department. I was the youngest assistant store manager that had ever been at the store, and within the Owner/Operators history.
