I went to great measures to ensure patient care expectations are exceeded, in regards to timeliness and quality. Daily tasks included but were not limited to: Rooming patients and obtaining vitals, updating patient charts, answering incoming calls and returning voicemails, relaying pathology results and lab/imaging results, properly directing medical records, scheduling follow-ups and procedures, coordinating procedure schedule with the endoscopy facility, checking insurance benefits and eligibility, sending referrals when applicable, ensuring proper documentation on each interaction had with either the patient or another relevant party regarding the patient, assisting the doctor in the rooms with the patients when needed, setting up for hemorrhoid bandings, providing patients with proper information and instructions for their anticipated tests, obtaining prior authorizations on medications, imaging tests, and infusion orders, and prepping medical charts for the doctor prior to the patients’ scheduled appointments. I unfailingly made an active effort to lend a helping hand to coworkers who needed extra help when I was able, and maintained flexibility all around. Additionally, I have been cross-trained to answer the incoming main-line calls and report new hospital consults to the doctor on call when needed. I have also been trained in Epic EMR system. Manage the office flow by way of checking in patients and ensuring correct demographical information. Enter EOBs, collect deductible balances, send invoices, solve insurance eligibility complications. Submit referrals and prior authorizations. Send prescriptions and submit prior authorizations when necessary. Room patients in a timely manner, record vitals/growth, conduct vision and hearing screening tests, vaccinate and assist the doctor with procedures, all with the patient's well-being being maintained. Schedule appointments and answer phone calls regarding general questions, referrals, and lab result reporting. Show less
