SCC residents are individuals who have been diagnosed with a personality disorder or mental abnormality that predispose them to commit sexually violent crimes and who have been deemed by the court to be at high risk to re-offend if released into the community without prior specialized treatment in a secure setting. The RRC 1 serves as a line staff member who works as part of a team responsible for implementing residential treatment strategies that contribute to the rehabilitation of the individuals who have been detained at the SCC for evaluation or have been civilly committed to the SCC as sexually violent predators.
