I had the pleasure of hiring Kayla to help me by managing my office while I was recovering from an Emergency Cesarean birth and was experiencing a temporarily diminished capacity. As a hands-on small business person, it is sometimes very difficult to find the "right fit" of a person who is competent and knowledgeable enough to be trusted with decision-making as well as contextually observent and sensitive enough to see the "big picture" of how their decisions affect the company as a whole and to preserve the existing company culture. We jokingly called her the "Something New Glue" because she quite literally held everything together, acting as a valuable hub for information that kept our operation running smoothly for the season. Without a doubt, Kayla is one of the most dedicated people whom you will ever have the privilege to meet. She is well-spoken, inquisitive, and eager-to-learn. Her attention-to-detail, cool-under-pressure affectation, effervescent sense of humor, keen intelligence, and genuine kindness distinguish Kayla in a sea of workers. Kayla cares about her work and takes a great deal of pride in her work. That constant care translates into a great difference in the final outcome, regardless of the specific duty being performed. What's more, Kayla is solidly reliable -- a praise I know is not often doled upon staff, this day in age -- and, in an industry where there are no second chances, this trait proves invaluable above even all of her other wonderful qualities. If you have the opportunity to bring Kayla on to your staff, I urge you to seize it! She is a rare find, indeed!
