    • Merchandise Coordinator

Working for a smaller company, I was able to take part in processes that traditionally belong to other departments. Despite my title being merchandise coordinator, I was given the opportunity to write copy and engaging descriptions for party packs, balloon bouquets and tableware, among other product. The party team worked not only to produce product for licensed themes such as Disney Moana and Paw Patrol, but were also working with their own product development team to tap into new avenues. For example, the team developed backpacks, lunch totes, and mini backpacks to penetrate the back to school market. My responsibilities also included prod id and SKU creation to allow for marketing of the product. This involved several steps from uploading product details into multiple catalogs to assigning products keywords so they would show up in searches on the website. BuySeasons was acquired by Rubies Costume Company and my position, as well as the majority of my department, was eliminated. Show less

I am able to converse with people from all walks of life. I look to the Starbucks mission "to inspire and nurture the human spirit- one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at time" for guidance in the everyday. The principles of Starbucks encourage passion surrounding not only the coffee, but the partners I work with, the people I serve and the neighborhood in which I find myself. I brew, I entertain, I serve because Starbucks' mission is worth supporting. I organize and put away weekly product orders. I am responsible for organizing and preparing holiday and themed displays. I am also a barista trainer for new Starbucks partners. I introduce new employees to their tasks and responsibilities and coach them to exude the Starbucks mentality. Show less

I read hundreds of excerpts from surveys regarding participants’ memories of violent media and coded these responses according to vividness, mention of gore, quotes, etc. This contributed to my professor’s study on violence in the media.
