  Social Security disability program management - Every year as Associate Commissioner we achieved: #1 large state in the nation as measured by five indicators - quality, timeliness, cost-effectiveness, production and accuracy. Complex medical and legal program. By working with and through up to 600 employees, much better service to the public was accomplished. As Associate Commissioner for Administrative Management Services, the areas I managed were computer/automated services, medical relations: statewide, facilities, including facility contract negotiations and (face-to-face) hearings. for the almost one year as AC for AMS; cost effective facility contracts were secured; the hearings program received national recognition for the most cost effective, innovative means to meet a temporary increase in that workload with highly skilled adjudicators; several improvements were created and implemented that brought improvements in every aspect of AMS.
