Joseph Wheaton
I worked with Kawika Avilla on the same team across three different projects for around a year and a half. We worked together on Advicent's NaviPlan Guided Retirement tool, which included many late nights in which as a core team of three we delivered an Angular 7 application built on top of a C# .NET Core API and Advicent's NaviPlan premium application. During this time Kawika helped me with a number of different tasks such as the finer points of git, how to deliver our application to production, and more. This project proved out and validated work that would go on to become NaviPlan Essentials, which is an entirely new web application written using Angular 9 and a C# .NET Core microservice architecture to service financial planners with mass market clients, allowing our clients to serve a new market segment. At this time Kawika moved from the front end to the back end on the same full stack team we are apart of, demonstrating his versatility. I also participated with Kawika in a hackathon which lead to us winning a small prize for our application. Kawika was easy to work with and extremely versatile in his skillset.
