Team Lead and SME - Spectrum Protect/Plus Technical Advisor
-
Jul 2020 - Present
I am the Global Team Lead of a newly formed Spectrum Protect Technical Advisor team. Although less than a year in this role, it has been a wonderful journey of adventure, learning, chaos and satisfaction in equal measure. My role involves helping to build cohesion and camaraderie in the newly formed team, as well as mentoring team members in the new role. In addition to building relationships and providing technical guidance on various aspects of Modern Data Protection to my own customer accounts, I also work on creating and establishing processes and tools for the global team to help ensure that the entire team has a consistent approach and methodology in their customer interactions and deliverables. User Experience Professional, IBM Spectrum Virtualize / Storwize / Flash Systems
-
Mar 2016 - Dec 2016
I work with the IBM Design Studio to develop the User Experience for new work items in IBM Spectrum Virtualize, IBM Storwize and Flash Systems. As part of this process, I work with the product and design teams to gather technical requirements and develop user stories, which form the basis for creating wireframes to visualize the workflow of the user stories. In order to design the user experience for the current feature, I researched various cloud service providers, such as Amazon S3, OpenStack Swift, and IBM SoftLayer. Bringing my deep knowledge in the Storage domain to the Design team helps in creating iconic user experiences that address real-world user stories and use cases. Show less

Team Lead, GUI Development
-
Jan 2015 - Feb 2016
I lead a team of highly skilled full-stack developers in the US to co-develop a newly re-designed User Interface for IBM A9000. The software was developed using Agile methodology, with code being dropped in weekly to biweekly iterations. In this role, I worked very closely with the GUI Design and Development Team located in Tel Aviv, Israel to deliver feature-functions developed by my team. As full-stack developers, my team was responsible for implementing both front-end and back-end functionality for the features that we provided. From a technology perspective, the GUI was developed as a web application. It had a Java backbone, that communicated with the AngularJS/HTML5/CSS3 based front-end using websockets. Show less

Team Lead, GUI (library) Development
-
Jan 2014 - Dec 2014
I was the Team Lead of a geographically distributed GUI team of full-stack developers that developed a Common User Interface library specifically aimed for Storage products. It was consumed by various product teams within IBM (such as V7000, SVC, Flash Systems, DS8000, etc) for implementing their Web GUIs, and included design elements that were common to a variety of storage products. These designs were implemented in a modular, flexible and customizable manner to enable maximum reuse. From a technology perspective, the library was developed using a variety of front-end technologies / libraries (such as Dojo, d3js, GridX, Javascript, CSS3, HTML5, etc). All code was developed using Agile methodology for software development, with weekly code drops. Show less

Team Lead, GUI Development
-
Jan 2010 - Dec 2013
I was the Team Lead of the GUI Development team for the IBM DS8000 Storage System. The DS8000 is IBM's premier high-end storage system, and in my role, I was responsible for all technical details (feature/function/code delivery/quality) of its GUI Management Interface. I lead a geographically distributed team of full-stack developers through various releases, including a completely re-written modern GUI based on a redesigned and greatly simplified user interface. In this role, I worked very closely with Design, Development, Test, ID, Project and Product Management. In terms of architecture, the application was built as a web application - it had a Java backend, and the front-end was built using Javascript/HTML/CSS (leveraging the Dojo Toolkit). All code was developed using Agile methodology for software development, with new code dropped in monthly iterations. Show less
