Engineering Manager

Feb 2022 - Present
I worked with Leukaemia Foundation (Australia) directly to implement their digital companion project for people living with blood cancer. Instead of being a plain SaaS application, I had to integrate with Salesforce, which meant understanding the design and limitations of a large monolith and architecting around it. My integration architecture is now being used to establish an official partnership between CurveTomorrow and Salesforce. My other areas of focus were to streamline responsibilities of Project managers & Tech leads to drive the SDLC: establishing accountability; leading engineering initiatives to improve quality of the deliverables; standardizing processes across projects. I joined Raksul as Tech Lead to explore my architectural skill. Raksul’s recruitment process fascinated me as they have found a way to fast-track candidates and onboard them quickly. Being a part of the Centre of Excellence team, I was responsible towards product development and delivery. I joined Raksul as Tech Lead to explore my architectural skill. Engineering Manager / Tech Lead

Sep 2020 - Apr 2021
EdCast is an AI-powered knowledge cloud for Unified Discovery, Knowledge Management, and Personalized Learning with ~3M+ users, aimed towards upskilling the enterprise workforce. The company has raised $100M+ in funding over seven rounds since 2014. In 2019, I transitioned to a Tech Lead role and assumed full responsibility for enterprise search while leading the AI team in India. I was then promoted to Engineering Manager in 2020 to lead a five-member team as a subject matter expert on the LXP core product to bridge the architectural gap between the AI product and LXP and ensure that features and APIs built by the AI team were properly leveraged within LXP. My work includes content discovery using search, running sprints and coordinating releases, and facilitating training on AI functionality for customer success teams. Project highlights: 1. Standardized SSO setup procedures to enable onboarding to handle SSO without engineering support. 2. Ran Sprints and managed release coordination for the AI team in India. 3. Facilitated training sessions for the customer success team on the AI functionality to improve their capabilities to create solutions for customers and not overpromise. 4. Established company-wide policy for creation of architecture documentation for every feature before development. 5. Re-implemented multi-tenant, multi-lingual enterprise search using ElasticSearch 7 with a focus on relevancy, speed, and horizontal scalability. 6. Designed user session management to harden security. 7. Implemented a GraphQL-like attribute selection for REST APIs using recursive descent parser. 8. Built a bulk user import and provisioning solution that reduced import time from an hour to two seconds. 9. Appraising performance and mentoring the team. Also hiring and onboarding new members. Jan 2015 - Mar 2019
I was initially hired after EdCast’s Series A round as employee #22 (#7 in Engineering) to contribute to the LXP core product. Project highlights: 1. Designed and managed all enterprise authentication efforts to include SAML, OAuth, integration with Okta, etc. 2. Introduced authentication and authorization to a file upload feature with migration to AWS Lambda and CDN to increase security and availability. 3. Created a framework adopted by all teams that automatically eliminates N+1 database queries in Rails to improve performance and reduce bottlenecks. 4. Drove application scaling efforts by introducing master for write operations and replicas for read operations. 5. Designed and implemented a mini-framework to prevent duplicate messages from queuing in background jobs. 6. Performed load testing using the Vegeta open source tool and a custom load testing script in Python. Show less
