  Working with both the development team at Three Squared, Inc. and residential homeowners, I designed and staged the Trumbull Squared Third Floor model center for the filming of HGTV's Container House show. During the construction, I oversaw the material installation and worked on-site with contractors to rush to the finish line. While the film crew was on-site, I did the furniture and decorative installation, prepping the space for the homeowners to move into.   As lead designer for Modern City, I aim to turn apartment buildings into profitable buisiness ventures for clients. Through assessment of target price point for units, neighborhood context and design vision, I lay out the initial aesthetic idea for each renovation or construction project. By pulling inspiration from multiple sources and considering the overall attitude of the city of Detroit, I set Modern City's design apart from other "loft-style" housing options in the city.

  As a Property Management Assistant I was responsible for creating and drafting lease documents, coordinating maintenance requests and working with management on the acquisition of new tenants. Modern City provides low-maintance, comprehensive property management to property owners, as well as consultations on building-design and rehab.

  A non-for-profit agency, Humble Design seeks to change the lives of families that have suffered job loss, illness or abuse, which forced them out of their homes and into homeless shelters. Detroit-based social workers in turn, contact Humble, suggesting a family deserving of our skills and services. As an Interior Designer, I met with clients to understand their needs for the homes, assessed the actual space and implemented furniture to fill up their new home! With a focus on regenerating and retrofitting, the team of Residents came from various backgrounds such as architecture, interior design, graphic design, or business planning to help entrepreneurs renew existing structures to house new and growing businesses. As a Resident within Practice·Space, I was a member of a small team working to curate, shape, and produce concepts for new start ups within the city of Detroit.   My role as Project Coordinator on the C Concept Design team centered around a new art museum program called the "Kruizenga Art Museum" that is currently under construction in Holland, Michigan. Starting out as an intern in the firm, I was selected to be Project Coordinator and liaison between the Concept Architect, Architect of Record and the Client. I balanced two schedules and an international time difference to ensure that proper communication was upheld. In addition to acting as liaison, I played a key role in the aesthetic choices chosen for the museum from the exterior cladding material to the interior fixtures and paint colors. I oversaw the layout and design of the outdoor sculpture garden and assisted the future museum director in consideration of artwork placement. Show less

During my semester-long arts residency in New York City, I served as an Intern within the BDDW showroom. As such, I maintained the overall appearance of the showroom, greeted guests and helped prepare products for shipment. It was during my time at BDDW that I honed the art and skill of decorative styling. A small, American-made furniture company, BDDW prides itself on the paring of craftsmanship and design that goes into each of its pieces.
