  I currently teach 9th-grade physical science, 9th grade STEM science (an honor's science course), and Chemistry. For the past seven years, I have been the science department head and chemical hygiene officer for my school. In addition, I have been the coordinator and coach for our MN Science Bowl team over the past seven years. I am also an active member of our Site-Based Leadership team, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) site team, and the Building Emergency Response team. In addition to teaching, I work with district personnel as a Curriculum Support teacher, my responsibilities include curriculum mapping for science, grades 6 – 12, as well as providing support to staff as they move towards common summative assessments. Also, I represent my school as a member of the district professional development committee. Over the last year, I have been actively involved in teams for building and renovation planning, 6-12 science curriculum alignment, and 9th grade transitioning, as we move from a junior high to a middle school model.
