Katy was an absolute joy to volunteer with when we travelled to Madagascar for two weeks in 2018 with Operation Wallacea. Katy was such an integral part of the team and was so supportive to each and every member of the group.
Chelsea S.
Katy worked as part of a wider team that I led, and was always reliable to be a voice of reason for her teammates. Her passion and dedication to student experience and welfare shone through in everything she did, and she displayed a wide range of skills that she had learned through academia and other professional and personal experiences. She always has creative ideas and is ready to adapt to any given situation, which as we've learned over the pandemic is a necessity!

Working as a research assistant on the Angus Soft Fruits Ltd Research and Development site allowed me to develop my data collection and analysis skills. I was responsible for the data collection and morphological analysis of developing plants, ensuring all numerical data was accurate and logged correctly using Microsoft Excel software on desktop computers as well as electronic tablets. I was involved in the plant selection processes for reproducing, and was able to develop horticultural skills in order to preserve samples, duplicate desirable plants, and perform accurate crossing processes. Working part-time alongside my studies at Nottingham Trent University, Boots UK enabled me to develop customer service skills both face-to-face with customers and over the phone. During my time at Boots in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, I expanded my product knowledge range by completing e-learning training and participating in staff team competitions and promotions.

Customer Assistant

Jun 2015 - Sep 2017
Boots UK in Evesham allowed me to develop my online learning experiences through desktop and electronic tablet use throughout my role as a customer assistant. I completed additional training to become a No7 advisor and was then able to promote the companies own brands effectively to a range of customers. Stock rotation, food hygiene and end-of-day locking were additional responsibilities I earned during my time at this branch. I was lucky enough to have this part-time position alongside my GCSE and college education, and was able to apply for a similar position when I moved to study at university in 2017. Show less
