I worked with preschoolers on a regular basis for one school year, applying a research-based curriculum which was focused on building language, literacy, social, and emotional skills. This experience was magnified by collaboration with six fellow Corps Members. Weekly, we discussed the students' improvement in English and worked through lesson plans together. Teachers and parents grew well-aware of the students' progress and specific needs. This opportunity was provided by Jumpstart for Young Children through AmeriCorps, a national civil society program.
