Operations Manager

Apr 2015 - Present
I really love what I do. Not a lot of people get to say that. My job keeps me quite involved in the purchasing side of supply chain and I get to be part of every other department of the company with the operations side of my job. My days are never the same.So what do I do? Inside sales and warehouse employees report directly to me. I manage the day to day activities and jump in where needed. That could be assembling kits, packaging a shipment, talking to a customer, what ever is needed to get the job done. I do not believe in "not my job" and my team lives the same motto. Although I enjoy helping out where needed, there are other items on my "to-do" list. I analyze labor hours to make sure our jobs are being charged correctly. I schedule production to meet customer requirements. I also monitor our shipping costs to make sure we are recouping as much as possible. I make sure we are staying current with cycle counts and inventory accuracy so we are not required to shut down for a full physical inventory every year. I cut purchase orders, monitor stock levels, and expedite with vendors when needed. In addition to these tasks I also handle our vendor return debits and customer credits. This is a pretty long list, and there is so much more. If it needs to be done, I do it.I am very proud of my many achievements during my time at Sentinel. The most recent was coordinating a full plant move. With months of planning and prepping we were able to complete the move in two days, but we only had to shut down for one business day. But the most exciting part of this was helping design the new office and warehouse space. I get to see what a great job I did every day when I walk in to work. Again, I love my job. I could talk about it all day! Show less

Operational Process Manager
-
Oct 2013 - Apr 2015
My position as the Operational Process Manager has been a role that has been evolving for many years. The major focus of my position is to continuously evolve operational procedures to ensure efficiencies as the company continues to grow. I get to develop, organize, and refine all operational policies and procedures to ensure all profit centers are functioning uniformly. My favorite part of my position is training company personnel on policies and procedures. To do this, I have needed to become intimately familiar with all departments. This keeps things fresh and exciting. As I was learning each department I started developing new departmental manuals and revamping existing ones. One of my carry over responsibilities from being the Supply Chain Assistant is scheduling for the assembly department and also our field service department in Wisconsin. I really enjoy "directing traffic" and making sure all customer delivery and service expectations are met. A new area for me is maintain all safety material, policies, and procedures to comply with OSHA regulations. Sentinel as a whole has always kept these regulations in the forefront of their operations. So thankfully it was a smooth learning process for me. Show less
