The Arbury Foundation is a non-profit organisation with the purpose of communicating a progressive path for European Integration. Among the activities of the foundation is the publication of ProgressivA, an online magazine with the goal of discussing political and scientific ideas with the general public. I was responsible for editing all of the articles published in English. I also wrote articles about welfare policy and European politics, hosted podcasts, and communicated with guest speakers and collaborators. Show less

I completed my PhD in political science, as part of a project on public services in historical and comparative perspective. My dissertation investigated the effect of government partisanship on the development of the mental health care and child welfare services that displaced nineteenth-century insane asylums and orphanages in OECD countries. My areas of expertise and teaching include welfare states, social policy, and public policy processes. I was the Vote Analyst for Vote Education (spending on schooling and early childhood education). I provided written and verbal advice to government ministers on budget initiatives and education-sector policy and performance. I monitored spending forecasts and financial reporting by the Ministry of Education, reviewed Business Cases for capital projects and complex ICT investments, and collaborated across Treasury and other government departments.
