  I carried out both independently and as part of a research group research projects, in particular on waste, the recovery of materials, the cost-effectiveness of environmental measures, climate change and waste legislation. I participated in more than 10 projects and wrote more than 20 reports or articles. I modeled systems, made calculations, and analyzed both environmental and cost data. I prepared and applied for funding for projects. I wrote reports and popularized the results in both Finnish and English, and I gave presentations at events in the field. Methodically I focused on life cycle assessments (LCA), life cycle costing LCC), and ex ante policy evaluations in following projects: -Prognosis on waste amount and material development -Effects of a waste incineration tax in Finland -Persistent organic pollutants in waste materials -Possibilities and hindrances in recycling of textile waste -A Nordic strategy for collection, sorting, reuse and recycling of textiles -Life-cycle model of biowaste management for the Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority -Impact assessment of the ordinance on packaging and packaging waste -Adwanced water technologies (ADWATECH) -Climate change policies and measures in Europe (PAM) (Costs of waste management policies) -Household packaging waste management in sparsely populated areas Show less
