During her tenure at MDT, the Division developed highly successful and award winning market ad campaigns including new television, print, social media, outdoor and digital components. Launched in 2013, the “Enjoy the Show” campaign signified a major change in the branding strategy and showcases the variety, the beauty and the majesty of Missouri like never before. This campaign, and the “Don’t Take Less of a Vacation, Take a Vacation for Less” developed in 2009 each received Platinum Adrian Awards from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI), the highest award ever awarded to Missouri’s marketing efforts and the only time back to back awards have been won by Missouri. The results are equally impressive. Missouri welcomed a record 41.1 million visitors in her final year as Director. Visitors spent a combined $11.6 billion, supported more than 290,000 jobs, and generated $1.3 billion in state and local taxes that contribute to Missouri’s economic well-being. This growth equates to an additional $562 million over the previous fiscal year, and an increase of 10% during her tenure. In addition she chaired the Mississippi River Country cooperative marketing partnership leading the 10-state consortium that markets to the Japanese travel market; and she championed for Missouri to join the Travel South USA Board making Missouri the newest and member of this 50 year-old coalition of state travel directors from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia promoting the south as a vacation region in domestic and international markets. She also saved the Missouri Film Office by bringing it into the Division of Tourism to further market and promote the film and digital media industry in Missouri.
