I’ve had the privilege, pleasure and good fortune of knowing and working with Katie for 2.5 years now. As her project manager, we’ve worked together on hundreds of DESIGN projects – everything from web designs and marketing campaigns to banners and animations. Those matching surnames are coincidental by the way – Katie & I are not related! Katie is extraordinarily talented. Her designs are thoughtful and subtly beautiful. She has a keen UX eye and approaches her website designs from a user’s perspective. She is always in demand. Her digital drawings are breathtaking. So much so that last year she was invited by its editor to illustrate the front cover of Cogora’s established and highly revered PULSE magazine, something ordinarily outsourced to respected, well-known illustrators. Her contribution – depicting the strain on frontline workers during the pandemic when the PPE shortage was at its most threatening - was subversive and striking. Political and powerful. A self-taught animator, Katie uses the Adobe suite (especially After Effects) and nothing more than intuition, a curious heart and an endless desire to excel at everything she puts her creative mind to. She has produced several animations for clients – all in the pharmaceutical / medical sector. Her animations have shown skill and compassion in equal measure – as the stories told therein are often quite harrowing and thought-provoking – and have justly won her many accolades. She is always willing to go the extra mile to meet a deadline or to help with unexpected DESIGN emergencies, which assists me greatly – as unplanned urgencies happen regularly in the med-comms agency business! Her commitment is as endless as her enthusiasm and drive to succeed. She’s ambitious without a whiff of ruthlessness or aggression. A total team-player. We often work under incredible pressure.
