My fundamental aim is to promote getting outside and wellbeing in its many forms; for children, adults and the earth. I firmly believe our wellbeing is intertwined with our relationship to the natural world. I want to use my experience of working in the outdoors to encourage others to explore nature and all it has to offer. I believe if we work with nature it will support us to find answers, no matter what stage we are in our various life journeys. I would love to run sessions for a vast range people and encourage connection, community collaboration and appreciation for nature. I believe being in nature has never been more vital. It allows us to breathe. It gives us some space. It gives us a break from many of the things that can feed into our rising stress levels. The charity WWF predicts that by 2050 6.5 billion people will live in towns and cities and the author Richard Louv believes humans are suffering from ‘nature-deficit disorder’, “a description of the human costs of alienation from nature.” The only antidote is spending time in nature. At Outdoor Adventure we believe people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities deserve to engage and connect with the outdoor environment. This is why we will offer a range sessions and events to provide outdoor fun and adventure.

Using fantastic communication skills I ensured that each customer had a magical holiday to remember. I escorted groups from the moment they landed at the airport until they left, this involved working very long days, in extreme weather conditions, using a high level of customer service skills. I encouraged group participation in activities such as husky dog sledging, snowmobiles and simple snow fun. I had to be fully aware and knowledgeable about all aspects of the trip including timings, activities and general local knowledge and provided a very high standard of customer service to guests with high expectations.

I had sole responsibility for groups of eight children aged 4 months to 12 years old throughout the day, whilst their parents went skiing. I was an active member of the hotel team as well as the child care staff, providing enjoyable activities for the children such as games and crafts, both indoor and outside. In a mountain environment unexpected events occurred regularly; delayed flights, lost luggage led to unhappy guests and long days; I took it all in my stride and learnt from every event, ensuring the best possible outcomes for all guests.
