The goal of the Research Unit is to produce information that will assist the decision-making of Office Managers by providing them with accurate quantitative information. My unit produces roughly 40 reports a month. Reports include information on filings, rejections, dispositions, and sentences. Each Vertical Unit receives monthly reports about unit activity. The unit supports grants and on going evaluations in the office. The Research Unit is also responsible for responding to individuals’ from the office and other criminal justice entities requests for special information and/or analysis. Show less

During the first year, I aided in the data collection and writing of a gang crime assessment for East Los Angeles, California. Data collection included surveys, interviews, law enforcement data, and data from other sources including census and school data. The last year, I set up tracking procedures and program guidelines. I served as primary research representative on the Steering Committee and worked closely with the grant’s program administrator.
