MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage farm team & oversee all growing operations (year round) on a 3-acre sustainable teaching farm including production fields, teaching model beds, greenhouse, apiary, maple syrup production, and additional gardens- Promote programs through direct networking, print materials, and social/digital media content creation- Develop and maintain partnerships with invested stakeholders and funders- Manage farm administrative tasks, including but not limited to budgets, grants, volunteers onboarding, field work, and produce distribution (sales and donations)- Design facilities and program activities to maximize accessibility and active engagement for all participants following ADA, Universal Design, and NYS Next Generation Learning Standards- Serve as a supportive community resource for outdoor education, gardening, and food security organizations and other small farms by sharing curriculum, produce, and mentoring- Created a distribution network to deliver produce donations to local food security organizations that has grown by 150% - 200% each year since 2018 (distributed 3500+ lbs of produce donations in 2021)EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Facilitate outdoor education programs for veterans (as one of nine sites for the Veterans Affairs Farming and Recovery Mental Health Services pilot program), people with developmental differences, & school/community groups- Create the curriculums for all virtual and in-person Therapeutic Horticulture programs focusing on growing food, connection to nature, nutrition, life & environmental sciences, social integration, and other outdoor education/adaptive wellness topics- Collaborate with teachers, agencies, & other staff to customize programs for each group’s wellness, social, & academic goals- Mentor veteran avocational participants in developing specialized agricultural projects and facilitating classes to youth groups and camps
