I recommend Katie to any Management & Leadership position. Under her leadership, I learnt to be meticulous, thorough and always understanding the bigger picture. She is a people leader, who always leads with passion on any given project or task. Katie always gives 110% and has an amazing focus on her teams/people. I absolutely loved working under her leadership.

I worked with Katie, providing temporary employee recruitment services while she was at Pinsent Masons. I couldn't have been luckier than to have Katie as a client. As an HR professional, Katie knows her stuff and was receptive to discussions about what was realistic and what wasn't (which is crucial when providing interim recruitment services to a law firm). Katie had direct access and a consultative relationship with decision maker partners which is not always the case for HR professionals I have encountered at various law firms..

This role is responsible for the internal operations of the Insurance and Investment Management (I&IM) business unit (over 650 partners and staff). I oversaw the HR, Resourcing, Finance and Global Mobility teams supporting I&IM, ensuring they delivered for the business unit. I was also responsible for managing headcount (including the headcount budget, approving any recruitment and global or national secondments), managing work experience intakes and providing project and administrative support to the Business Unit Leader and Operations Director. This varied role required exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills; balancing and prioritising competing demands from the business unit and directives from the central Assurance leadership team.Key Achievements• Successfully completed the second ELP project for the Princes Initiative for Mature Enterprise (PRIME) charity. I was a joint leader on this project with one other colleague and we were both nominated by PRIME for an award for voluntary work and invited to their annual awards evening which was attended by HRH Prince Charles. Our final report was praised by the Chairman Ian Powell and was published under the PwC brand for use by the charity.• Conducted a review of under-performing staff with the Performance Partner and HR Advisor. Identified significant gaps in evidence of poor performance, coaching and well-managed performance improvement programmes. Monitored all performance improvement programmes for two months to ensure we had fair and comprehensive process which resulted in better outcomes and enabled disciplinary action when required.• After 3 months in role I received a recognition award from the Sub-Group Directors for demonstrating the Firm’s value of ‘doing the right thing for our people’• Although in role for only a short time before my first performance review, I was given a 2 rating, defined as ‘consistently exceeds expectations’.
