Durning this role I spent three months working as one of two teachers in POSA orphanage in Aremeru, Tanzania. My primary job was teaching 4-6 year olds English, Maths and Science. Additionally, I organised health checks and HIV tests for all 30 of the children, and lead a team of 7 people to redecorate the orphanage building. Oct 2014 - Jan 2015
As a Barista I had first hand experience with customer service, working between 30 - 40 hours a week I developed great communication skills and an understanding of working under pressure. This helped me to work efficiently well in a team. Working in a small village newsagent/sandwich shop I was able to work alone. Here I had to take sole responsibility of the daily function of the business. It also helped me to develop great independence in the work life, working alone meant I had to use my own initiatives a lot of the time. Whilst on duty I was responsible for the entire Lesiure facility. This gave me a true understanding of responsibly, as I had to ensure that everyone in both fitness suite and the swimming pool were safe.
