Working as part of a small team providing product confidence to the insurer (Southern Rock). I am currently responsible for testing eight insurance products across three software houses to ensure they rate accurately and perform as expected. This typically consists of manually executing targeted test scripts in a UAT environment along with an automated bulk testing approach. Attention to detail and work speed is crucial to ensure software house time scales are adhered to and new rates can be released to live on time.We also apply a post live testing approach in the form of daily premium validation where by the previous days policies are validated to identify any errors were submitted to the live environment. It’s essential that I’m organised and effectively manage my time as this role requires me to work under pressure and to meet timescales and deadlines. I have brilliant mind for problem solving and seeing problems before they happen, something that has proved valuable when creating test scripts and preventing error.

Technical role obtained by my wealth of experience working in other areas of the company. This team dealt with in-depth referrals from the customer facing departments in regards to the calculation of policy premiums and refunds. Within this team I progressed to support the manager with referrals from the claims and underwriting departments, usually requiring a manual recalculation as a result of non-disclosure information. This role required me to have a thorough knowledge of the products and their rating structures, along with constant attention to details and high level of accuracy. I also provided daily and weekly reports of stats, attended meetings with the Development team regarding system issues and generally acting as a referral point for the rest of the team.
