  I run a charity that aims to instil a love of reading for pleasure in children living on disadvantaged estates, through home-based reading sessions where children are read stories and can borrow books, and parents are shown how enjoyable reading with their children can be. Key skills include – leadership, setting strategic direction, developing business and operational plans, building long-term relationships with local and national charities for partnership working and referral pathways, developing and improving impact measurement processes. Fundraising (developing strategy, generating income, building long-term relationships with funders), budget setting and management of finances, acting as spokesperson for Doorstep Library and a voice for beneficiaries – press, partnership working and connecting with others in the literacy/ charity sector. Job Purpose: • to work with the Board of Trustees in setting direction and strategy for the organisation and ensuring compliance with the Organisation’s constitution and other regulatory requirements • to manage the day to day operations of the Doorstep Library Network, advising Trustees of the level of resourcing needed to deliver on the Organisation’s aims and objectives; and ensuring staff, volunteer and other resources are allocated and applied in line with the aims, policies and procedures of the Organisation • to raise funds in support of the Organisation’s objectives; liaising with external stakeholders to represent and promote the development, growth and values of the Doorstep Library Network Show less
