Provide in-depth psychosocial assessments in order to assess, provide appropriate services and referrals, and evaluate each service for those affected by epilepsy. Provide in-direct and direct counselling 1:1 with children, youth and young adults, along with family counselling intervention to meet their individual and group needs, using Solution Focused and Strengths Based Therapy Modules. Provide on-going case management support and coordination of services to individuals and their families within their community, through promotion of independence and quality of life for individuals by responding to their unique, individual changing needs. Effectively developed, organized and carried out a monthly support group for young adults living with epilepsy, a 6 week Art Therapy Program and a monthly Parent Support Group. Developed, performed and evaluated two educational weekend retreats, annually, to encourage the connection between families, health care professionals and community agencies. In addition to provide parent and child mentorship opportunities. Partnered with Hospital for Sick Children, Neurology Unit, to engage with their patients involved in the Epilepsy Clinic, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and Transition Clinic on a weekly/monthly basis, and provided a point of reference for referral services Developed, conducted and carried out the 2014 North American Region International Bureau for Epilepsy and the Epilepsy Foundation of America, Inc Young Adult Epilepsy Summit in Washington, DC. Partnered with the Social Work Department at George Brown College, York University, University of Toronto and Wilfred Laurier University to provide supervised practicum opportunities to 4 students.
