Life Space Crisis Intervention is one of the most effective approaches I have learned to treat kids with self defeating behavior and trauma. I have trained professionals in Portugal and Hong Kong to master the LSCI skills and reduce crisis for kids at risk and their families. I have also trained my staff while at Pressley Ridge and as a consequence, their therapeutic skills evolved, they were able to manage more effectively their counter-aggressive response and crisis was reduced in a significant way for the kids and their families they worked with. I was part of Girl Move Academy leadership team, in charge of Believe & Lead Programs. I have contributed to the development & implementation of the academy services, impact strategy, design and implementation of innovation formats, leadership, mentorship & personal development including the the sisterhood & mentorship program. Since 2014, I was part of the Girl Move core team that design and implemented the leadership and social entrepreneurship academy for girls & young women in Nampula, Mozambique. While with Girl Move, I have traveled frequently to Mozambique to train & empower our academy students (Girl Movers), our team, partners & stakeholders - including University professors from Mondlane University in Maputo and Católica University in Nampula. The main areas I have trained were creative leadership, personal development, team work & community building. My leadership has contributed to the restructure of Believe & Lead programs, including Covid 2020 period. I founded Pressley Ridge in Portugal. I have lead the organization and manage the team to help them reach their potential and better benefit the kids and families we serve. My contribution has influenced important system changes in therapeutic services for children & families in Portugal, specially in residential care and in the family setting (community services). Due to my work with Pressley Ridge in Portugal, I was recognized as one of the leading social entrepreneurs in Portugal. We have piloted 2 of the first social businesses in our country. My experience with Pressley Ridge, taught me to navigate between different cultures - North american, portuguese and african (mostly Cabo Verde), learning and taking the best of each and redesign effective programs to meet the needs of the most vulnerable kids and families. We've always took the hardest challenges with success rates above 70% about kids and family capacity to thrive and succeed after our support. Team work extended to our stakeholders, strong values, focus in continuous learning & experimenting and mission driven practices were some of the critical aspects of our success.
