Bio
Beth Kennedy
In just four years as Notre Dame University’s Director of Marketing Kathy was the major force in increasing undergraduate applications by more than 30 percent. At the same time, applications at most other WA universities were in steady decline. That achievement reflects not only Kathy’s remarkable skills in strategic marketing and planning, but rare creative judgment that gave Notre Dame’s marketing communications campaigns unique appeal among the university sector’s many and varied target audiences. As Director of Media and Communications I worked closely with Kathy for more than two years and was amazed at how much she motivated a very small marketing/design team to excel in every way in a challenging, pressurised working environment. I look forward to following her next career move – and her next success!
Breyon Gibbs
Kathy has a unique ability to both see the big picture of any piece of marketing or communications, whilst never losing sight of the key details that truly make a difference for creating effective campaigns. During my time working for Kathy I consistently learned new and innovative ways of approaching tasks, felt supported and inspired to do my best work, and more than anything enjoyed collaborating with her. Kathy has an enormous capacity for empathy and emotional intelligence, a key element of her personality that shines through to the way she conducts herself professionally. She is a pleasure to work with for many reasons, but largely it is down to her understanding of people and people's needs. I was genuinely sad to see Kathy go and will be keen to stay in touch as she moves onwards and upwards to whatever venture is lucky enough to claim her exceptional talents as a marketer, communicator, and leader.
