Integrated planning of water/wastewater services to sustainably improve the liveability, and provide for the growing population, of Sydney.Key Project Summary – Rouse Hill/Castle Hill Options Study Led an integrated team to develop a servicing strategy for Rouse Hill, Castle Hill and Riverstone WWTPs to provide the best environmental, economic and social outcomes. I took on lead planner responsibilities, which involved accountability for project progress, key decisions, managing consultants and stakeholder conflict, developing the business case and mentoring our graduate. Key Project Summary – Wastewater System Blueprint, Wollongong Led the integrated system assessment of Wollongong, Port Kembla and Bellambi wastewater treatment plants and surrounding networks. Successfully managed stakeholders from across the business to conducted risk assessments and develop five and thirty-year strategic/investment plans.

Feb 2016 - Oct 2016
Input into the strategic direction of facility design and management of stakeholder relationships.Key Project Summary – Load Forecasting Analysis I undertook a detailed analysis on historic nutrient loads discharged from wastewater treatment plants and projected future loads considering growth, weather and plant upgrades. Based on this, I provided advice to the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) on licencing improvement opportunities to support the Hawkesbury Nepean project team. Process ImprovementsReinvigorated the Biosolids Operations Strategic Sessions to strengthen biosolids information sharing between key internal stakeholders.Developed relationships with the EPA through knowledge sharing sessions, providing trustworthy incident updates and clear reasoning for licence exception requests.Contributed to the development of the Biosolids Quality Score to assist operations in understanding the potential biosolids quality impact when equipment is taken offline.

Feb 2015 - Jan 2016
Input into the technical direction of facility design and management of stakeholder relationships. Key Project Summary – Project Capability Assessment (PCA), West Hornsby WWTP Effectively worked with Sydney Water stakeholders and consultants to produce the West Hornsby PCA. Completed technical evaluation of the treatment plant’s performance and assisted in developing recommendations to optimise the process. Key Project Summary – St Mary’s and Quakers Hill PARR Managed master planning projects detailing options for significant capacity upgrades of St Mary’s and Quakers Hill WWTPs. This has involved managing teams of consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders, as well as detailed investigation of a number of international best practice technologies, to ensure plant capacities are sufficient to service future population needs.

Contributed to the day-to-day function of the treatment plant and worked with the team to successfully manage process events and interruptions.Key Project Summary – Project Managed West Hornsby WWTP Digester WorksSuccessfully maintained continuity of the digestion process during decommissioning/ commissioning of two digesters. Achieved this through effective consultation and implementation of engineering strategy within practical site constraints. Assigned responsibilities to plant operators and external contractors.Process ImprovementsConducted process analysis leading to recommendations for modifications to the ethanol dosing system upgrade, with aim to improve process performance/save on chemical costsRefined, documented and trained operators in online analyser maintenance requirements

Graduate Chemical Engineer - Chemical Dosing Team
-
Feb 2013 - Jan 2014
Worked across Sydney Water networks to ensure appropriate odour and corrosion management in the sewer and chlorination of drinking water to the customer tap.Key Project Summary – Project Managed Lone Worker System UpgradesSuccessfully conveyed lone worker safety concerns among major safety groups and showed initiative and flexibility in working with the service provider to implement system upgrades. Process ImprovementsCollaborated with production officers and IT to design a system utilising field based technology for reporting. This allowed immediate access to data and reduced office based work, resulting in efficiency gains for the whole team. Audited chemical invoices to ensure the best value for Sydney Water, consulting with providers to resolve any discrepancies.Implemented improvements to standard operating procedures and trained operators
