During this time I worked for both Orange County Public schools and Orange County Charter Schools. I worked mostly in an inclusion classroom that catered to an inclusion environment of integration of students with and without disabilities. Orlando , Florida serves a large population of international families with a high percentage of English language learners. I worked with students and their families to empower them to support their students as they navigated American public schools often for the first time. I also served on the interview committee for hiring new candidates to join our school. I conducted IEP meetings coordinating teams of therapists , translators, parents and school professionals to determine appropriate school accommodations to best serve students. These meetings took place virtually and in person. I was responsible for keeping up with state standards, planning and preparing lessons, meeting educational requirements as laid out by the state of Florida's standards, and tracking and maintaining data for individual education plans. Classroom Teacher at an international school. We served students from all over the world at this international school. My classroom was a place that celebrated diversity and student’s heritage. My teaching assistants consisted of all local Chinese educators and we worked together to learn how address the needs of our students as well as training them in American Education standards.
