A.C.T. Summer Camp

Founder and Director
-
May 2013 - Aug 2013
I created A.C.T. Summer Camp, a non-traditional academic summer camp in my home town of Indianapolis, IN, for children ages 6-13. The camp is designed for children to participate in productive developmental activities throughout the summer which builds skills that we believe will help them become academically successful in the school year. A.C.T.S. stands for "A Chance to Succeed". The mission of the camp is to excite youth with fun and interactive lessons that allow them to think critically, problem solve, work together, and learn in ways they've never imagined, taking the idea of "summer camp" to a whole new level. I direct the overall operations of the summer camp as well as create the academic curriculum used throughout the summer camp. The children participate in interactive lessons and go on a variety of field trips which include the Indianapolis Children's Museum, The Indianapolis Central Library, and the Indianapolis Civil War Museum. In it's first year the camp hosted over 30 actively enrolled children in the program. Show less
