Bio
S. Beth Knight, PMP, A-CSM, SASM, PSM II
I had the pleasure of working with Kathleen as her Release Train Engineer. Kathleen had the opportunity to volunteer to learn and practice the role of Scrum Master. As a software developer Kathleen did not need to take on this additional role but was excited for the opportunity to continue learning and become more well-rounded. Not only did Kathleen volunteer for the additional responsibility she absolutely exceled as a new Scrum Master. Prior to the start of the Program Increment, Kathleen and I were able to work together while she was learning the ins and outs of being a Scrum Master. From day one Kathleen wanted to do a great job. She is personable, bright and incredibly organized. Kathleen is a natural problem solver. She did not hesitate to ask questions. All of the questions Kathleen asked were intelligent and exceeded entry level experience. Kathleen truly wanted to understand and know as much about Agile as she could. She took full advantage of the opportunity given to her. As an Agile practitioner, I do not always see this enthusiasm and dedication. As a Release Train Engineer Kathleen is the type of Scrum Master I strive to have. As a Scrum Master, I would be so pleased to have her as part of my team.

Kathleen joined our Real-world Project program right out of our 13-week full-stack boot-camp. Having successfully demonstrated coding skills in web application development, service development and simple database implementations, she had nearly six months participating in a Real-world Project where she demonstrated proficiency in use of frameworks (java and javascript); sufficient experience in source control management (git); sufficient experience in agile development practices like paired programming and test-driven development (tdd); and implementation of automated integration testing as part of the development process. Working well within a team and being confident even in unfamiliar territory, I would highly recommend Kathleen for a Jr. level role in Development, Automated Testing, and even DevOps.
