      CVN AmeriCorps members will enhance an existing program by developing a new project, offering services in a new area or offering supplemental services which would not otherwise be provided by the service site. AmeriCorps members are not employees and must not displace, replace, supplant or duplicate current or recent staff or volunteer responsibilities. Any duties not specified in this description must support the Member's direct service role and may not violate the Prohibited Activities as outlined by AmeriCorps. Changes require advance approval by CVN. The member will: - Respond to requests from OCC dispatcher to engage homeless persons at specified locations - Engage individuals, assess needs, and offer appropriate services - Engage, assess and provide services for “Walk-ins” who enter OCC offices in search of help. Engage these individuals in the same manner/ style as would be done on the street - Work cooperatively with business owners, police, and concerned citizens to serve the needs of persons who are homeless - Check names of homeless persons encountered against OCC focus list and make contact with ICM or assigned outreach team regarding status of consumer - Answer hotline calls when necessary and be familiar with proper dispatch of response teams and documentation. - Complete all client paperwork on timely basis
