I reported directly to Kathi for 6 months as part of her Business Management Office (BMO) team in the Technology division of a Single Family mortgage business of a GSE serving the secondary mortgage market. Our team was responsible for developing and implementing the operating model and enabling processes and tools to support Finance, Resource Management, Metrics, Risk and Compliance and Administrative activities. As an experienced consultant from her prior roles, Kathi confidently led the team and navigated and delivered creative solutions that satisfied requirements of multiple functions and stakeholders. She demonstrated solid working knowledge of finance, budgeting, and risk management in executing her strategy. She also demonstrated excellent leadership skills, ability to build consensus and handle sensitive data and information related to budget and resource issues. Beyond these capabilities, Kathi has an even-keeled demeanor that makes her seem unflappable in even the most-pressured situations, inspiring confidence among her team and stakeholders who interact with her. Among her achievements, she effectively owned and produced a monthly business review report package that provided summary and drill-down metrics for management to understand the state of the organization and helped lay the groundwork for several key initiatives within the organization, including a transition to a managed services operating model. She also facilitated development of a comprehensive monthly forecasting process and tool that allowed managers to allocate resources and view the impact on resource and financial numbers in real-time and drove the creation of a resource management framework that enabled effective and efficient deployment (and re-deployment) of resources across 7 cost centers. Kathi is a consummate professional and team player who also created a positive and fun work environment. She would be an asset to any organization in need of a skilled and well-rounded business and project manager and I would look forward to any opportunity to work with her again in the future.
