  In November 2018, I took career break to explore methodologies that worked at the intersection of social change, innovation, creative communication and the arts. This involved: - Providing support to early stage social enterprise Elective Affinities, which used decolonial programming approaches to community development arts and urban programming under a social enterprise model (November 2018-March 2019) - Receiving a competitive Danish State scholarship to study spatial design and society (design anthropology) at Roskilde University in Denmark - an opportunity I decided not to take (March - June 2019) - Completing a short term contract as a journalist at ABC News (November 2019- February 2020) - Providing grants management and tender development support to researchers in the university sector at UNSW Sydney (March 2019-October 2019) and University of Sydney (February 2020 - Present) - Developing my own personal creative practice through a number of courses and workshops Show less

  The Women's League of Burma is a community based organisation advocating for the rights of women and girls from ethnic minority groups in Burma. It is an umbrella group representing 13 ethnic minority women's organisations, responsible for advocacy at an international and national level, training and capacity building and funding support via sub-grants. As technical advisor, my primary role was coordination, desk research and support to their shadow report to CEDAW, but grew to encompass a strong resource mobilisation, training, stakeholder representation and capacity building focus. Key achievements: - Authored successful funding proposals for donors including the National Endowment for Democracy, the US State Department and the International Women’s Development Agency - Provided technical advice and capacity building support for WLB’s 2016 Shadow Report to the UN Convention for the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), presented at the UN in Geneva, July 2016 - Authored WLB’s contribution to “Coming out of the Dark: Pursuing Access to Justice for Girl Children”, a joint report on sexual violence against girl children in ASEAN facilitated by the Women’s Legal Bureau, Philippines - Represented WLB at meetings with UN Special Rapporteur to Burma, US State Department and at the ASEAN forum on Access to Justice for Girl Children facilitated by the Women’s Legal Bureau and Save the Children Philippines - Co-facilitated 2 day training workshops in program cycle management for WLB Peace Program Focal Points in conjunction with the International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA) - Facilitated 6 day training on program cycle management, data collection and evaluation for WLB Violence Against Women (VAW) Focal Points Show less

As Program Officer, I supported all aspects of The Foundation’s programming first in South Asia and the Middle East, and then in South East Asia. In this role, I provided program development and proposal development support and advice, conducted desk research on new programming, prepared contracts, provided training on head office policies and coordinated all risk management and internal and external monitoring and reporting.
