  For 20 years, I worked full-time and part-time and as a freelancer for the Tampa Bay Times, formerly the St. Petersburg Times. I covered a wide range of businesses from dirt mining in Pasco County to the redevelopment of downtown St. Petersburg. I found the interesting stories in small businesses such as two women who rented commercial kitchen space by the hour to make gourmet granola to breaking news on the ups and downs of the Sundial shopping center.
