Bio
Shelley A. Svoren
I was fortunate to watch Katherine's growth during my tenure at First Republic Bank and refer to her achievements as a Master Class in my personal motto: ABC - Always Be Curious. While she served as an Associate on the cash management team, I worked with her moving a client with challenging needs to a system that improved their cash flow and it was not enough her for her to simply "just do it" she took the time to learn the complexities of their business and answer their needs. From there, I watched as she tapped into her curiosity to learn the complexities of the wine industry and how to mitigate the risks that are not known to those outside of it. I was incredibly pleased to see her not only take a step forward in her career but to also excel and learn the nuances of lending to the private equity community and see her excellence recognized by senior leaders at the bank. While never a formal mentor, I consider myself fortunate that she includes me as one of her many unofficial mentors. I can state that in addition to her curiosity, her work ethic that is firmly focused on mastery has caused those who are senior in title and service to reexamine what they think they know and uncover a better way to view situations and evaluate key risks that were never previously contemplated.
