The first of its kind in the UK, Unpaved Podcast explores the reasons why and how the off-road movement is booming, from design and local bike shops with an alternative angle to current pro road racer Lachlan Morton. Join Katherine Moore and Tom Bonnett as they travel the length and breadth of the UK, seeking out the very best off road riding in the wild and wonderful British Isles. They’re seeking out the riders, route masters, gear designers and creatives that help you get the most out of leaving the tarmac behind. The introductory series of four episodes explores the fundamental concepts of what it means to ride off road; exploring cycling history, how new communities are being born all over the country and how attitudes are changing more than they have done in decades. Unpaved investigates what happens when riders take this growing discipline of riding to the extremes and how the cycling industry is responding to the surging all-terrain appetite. This is not a studio podcast. Host and producer duo Katherine and Tom join their guests as they showcase the very best of their local dirt, come snow, rain or shine. With each episode, the route and highlights are shared on the Unpaved komoot account so that listeners can go and enjoy the locals’ best off road trails all over the UK too. Podcasts guests from this series include representatives from The Woods Cyclery, Brother Cycles, Pannier.cc, Second City Divide, The Bicycle Academy, Mercredi Bikes, The Racing Collective and current pro road racer, Lachlan Morton. • Freelance Writer
      • Jul 2016 - Jul 2017

Since deciding that I wanted to make the transition to work in the cycling industry in the summer of 2016, I started to write a personal blog about my exploits, on the advice of an acquaintance and well regarded cycling journalist. What I didn't expect was how much I would enjoy writing, and just how much I would take from it. To date, I have published articles ranging from cycling event reviews such as the Rapha Women's Prestige, cycling tour 'how to' guides and informative articles on subjects such as the 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs book and the Yearly Century Challenge. As a regular contributor to Total Women's Cycling, features include subjects such as Audax, road cycling in Tenerife, British Cycling Go Race coaching sessions aimed at getting more women into racing and a review of Simon Warren's 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs. I have also carried out and written reviews on numerous winter jackets, summer clothing collections, helmets and shoes. Other contributions include publications such as Arrivee (an Audax member magazine) and Triathlove. Continuing to develop my network of contacts in the industry, I was delighted to take part in the Women's Road Bike of the Year 2017 testing and filming for Bike Radar. The recently launched Casquette has proven popular, and I've written for their online site both on the controversial topic of baggy cycling shorts and recommended pit stops for road cycling in Morzine. I've enjoyed working alongside the Rockets and Rascals team in Plymouth to review the first year of the Trans Kernow long distance cycling event, and Let's Go Events' women's sportive. Other industry partners include Evans Cycles and Bike UK. Show less
