• The role involved the delivery of time-limited individual and group counselling in schools based in areas of high deprivation in Glasgow. The client group consisted of children with varied backgrounds and cultures aged between 4- 12 years who required support to cope with a broad range of difficulties using art, play and talking as a form of communication. • I delivered evidence-based therapeutic interventions following assessment and formulation to engage service users. This required building trusting therapeutic relationships with children, dealing sensitively with a range of mental health problems, trauma, learning difficulties, loss, abuse, cross-cultural issues, challenging behaviour and preparing for transitions. • I provided a wide range of interventions to children and their families/carers and appropriate recommendations. I facilitated individual and group sessions upon referral and assessment with parents/carers/school and risks are assessed and managed throughout the process. • Worked within the organisation’s Child Protection Framework, I escalated any determined risk to Supervisor/Clinical Practice as appropriate. Attending regular supervision in accordance with my professional body. • I liaised and built strong relationships with the schools, the parents/carers, wider networks and multi-agencies. • I used evaluation tools throughout the therapeutic intervention including CORE YP, SDQ's and Welling Being WEB.
