I started at Cumbria Travel in December and have thrived within the industry. My role is to assist customers in finding their perfect holiday. I deal with customers face to face and on the telephone. I also deal with Facebook and email enquiries. I contact tour operators on a daily basis to find the best deals for our customers and put together packages for their dream holidays. I take payments and ensure the payment is taken off the holiday balance. I ensure that the brochures are kept topped up and looking tidy. I use an in house computer package, Microsoft and other applications as needed. I ensure that all customer details are logged and that their quotes are also loaded onto their page. I also deal with any Ad Hoc duties as they arise. I am very sad to be leaving this role but I have relocated back to the North East. Show less

I was employed here in the sales department setting up travel insurance policies. I speak with all customers that call in and answer any queries they have. I have to pay close attention to detail as any mistakes would make their policy invalid. I also have to go through a medical screening process that is very in depth and needs to be carefully navigated through. I was employed as a receptionist in this busy 4 star hotel reception area which also provides reception cover for the Sleepwell Hotel, the sister hotel over the road. In this role I answer the telephone and take all bookings for the leisure facilities, all lunch and dinner reservations and all bedroom reservations. I ensure that all the details for the bookings are input onto the system properly and liaise with the booking companies to ensure that all payment details are up to date and correct. I check the guests in and out of the hotel and take payments from them. I cash up the tills from the bar and the coffee shop and keep a check on all incoming emails. I deal with all enquiries that come to desk whether it be in person, telephone or email and ensure that the correct department or person is given all the details they require. I deal with the complaints and have to try to find a resolution or weather it needs to be escalated to the Manager. I liaise with the other departments to ensure they have all the paperwork and information that they require and ensure that the hotel is running smoothly. Due to covid the hotel was closed and I was unable to retain my position. Show less

I was employed as a customer service advisor and when I left I worked within the subject access request department. When I first started with Santander I worked within the mortgages department on the telephones dealing with peoples enquiries. This would entail answering people questions in a polite and professional manner about all aspects of their mortgage. Explaining how payments could affect the term of the mortgage, releasing redemption figures to solicitors and to the customers and ensuring that any sales leads were followed up. This was all done with strict timescales and ensuring that data protection was never breached. I then moved into my current department where I deal with request for details regarding payment protection insurance. Again I have to ensure there are no data protection breaches. With the deadline in place for PPI request this is a fast pace environment and requires a good eye for detail. I have to sort through the requests from customers and from claim management companies and search through our systems to find if the customer had PPI on the products that they have stated. I have to write letters to the customers, update the database and maintain high levels of service. This role also included a lot of data entry. Unfortunately, I had to leave this role to look after an elderly relative and by the time I could look for work again Covid had started and we relocated to the North West Show less
