As a mental health counselor I am working with our 120 individuals who experience mental health problems on various aspects of their daily lives. I help to plan and execute events for our individuals including movie nights, day trips, and dinners in order to promote community involvement. The mission of Alternatives Unlimited is to allow for individuals with disabilities to become involved members of our communities. Through work on activities of daily living as well as rehab meeting to assist individuals in their mental health recovery, we help the people we serve to live full, meaningful lives as contributing members of society. My position also entails that I advocate for the individuals I serve whether it be in search of homeless shelters, food pantries, or with receiving medical services. Show less
