Animex International are a multi-disciplinary company who focus on mitigating the impacts of road and linear infrastructure on the natural world. My role focuses on the creation, implementation and management of wildlife connectivity and social projects in the Research and Development department of the business. Main responsibilities include: Leading "Rebuilding Bridges" - a project that focuses on turning current infrastructure along the south coast into greener, wildlife-friendly corridors to improve landscape connectivity whilst providing opportunities for social enterprise with local businesses. Working alongside Devon Wildlife Trust to deliver a feasibility study investigating how current infrastructure along main highways can be adapted and retrofitted with solutions to increase landscape connectivity (include desktop ecological research, data analysis, site assessments of infrastructure, stakeholder engagement and report writing). Identifying and developing research projects that address a range of challenges and threats that wildlife face from road and linear infrastructure (includes developing project briefs, identifying and applying for funding, stakeholder engagement and project management).
