      • Dec 2014 - Jul 2020

As a results-driven, patient-focused leader, I have instituted many improvements in this 24-bed unit. I slashed RN turnover from 30% to 7.4% by implementing an effective staffing system, providing appropriate training, and driving employee engagement. I successfully prepared this unit for Jcaho and CARF surveys and saved $500K/year by aligning operations with CMS documentation compliance requirements. I assumed the Program Director role during a period of transition and managed the change, mitigating risks by driving compliance with regulatory standards (CMS, TJC, ODH, CARF, and HIPAA) and coordinating feedback across multidisciplinary teams to develop and deploy effective, best-evidence-based programs, policies, and procedures. The role requires a significant amount of financial operations including developing forecasts and budgets, monitoring revenues and expenses, and identifying opportunities to optimize profits without compromising quality. • Nurse Manager
      • Sep 2012 - Feb 2014

Here, I coordinated patient treatment throughout a 55-bed medical-surgical (med-surg) telemetry unit and a 12-bed med-surg ICU, supervising and scheduling nurses and delegating duties to maximize the quality of patient care, boosting the patient satisfaction rating from 50% to 80% within a year. I recruited, interviewed, hired, and trained the nursing staff, providing performance reviews, recommendations for advancement, and disciplinary actions as needed. I maintained detailed, accurate, and confidential patient records. I regularly reviewed expenses and resource allocation to ensure departmental budgetary compliance. I maintained a consistent record of providing competent, quality care based on best-evidence practices by promoting cross-functional team collaboration and stabilizing staffing ratios to attentively address patient needs. In this role, I carried direct responsibility for the success of five med-surg units including orthopedics, oncology, respiratory, acute rehabilitation, and distinct part-skilled nursing as well as outpatient radiation oncology and neurology services. Within a year, all my RNs achieved oncology certification and my units achieved successful Jcaho, CPDHS, CMS, and CARF surveys. Additionally, I guided the Transitional Care Unit from 15 deficiencies to one deficiency and gained five-star recognition. I secured two-year, million-dollar grant used for development of diabetes care and education program as well as an in-house diabetes nurse educator program. Because of my proactive nature, I was afforded increased responsibilities for outpatient radiation oncology and neurology services, oversight of education department, and training of selected staff to take on leadership roles.
