Undergraduate Honours Thesis Project
-
Sep 2020 - Apr 2021
The impetus for my Honours thesis project was a desire to understand the role that attachment processes play, if any, in modulating sexual response. Key tasks and takeaways from my project:• Identified a gap in the attachment, romantic relationship, and gender and sexuality literature • Conceptualised my own research question, hypotheses, and research design • Adapted the Incentive Motivation Task, a behavioural measure of sexual motivation, from MATLAB for online administration • Created an ethics research proposal and successfully gained clearance • Recruited 186 participants from social media forums and the QU subject pool• Cleaned data, tested assumptions, calculated variables, and ran analyses including Pearson’s correlations, 2x2 mixed model ANOVA, and moderated multiple regression • Created graphs for data visualisation and fully drafted and revised a thesis paper in APA style • Achieved “A” grade (4.0)
