I attended Kate and Don Gingold's Business Advisory Committee Presentation on "Your Business Book: Why You Want One and How You Get it Done". It was a well organized discussion with a ton of excellent information on why and how to publish your own book. Kate and Don were dealing with a limited Time Frame and they were still able to effectively deliver the information and be engaging. I am also familiar with Kate's writings on History of Naperville. Katharine is an excellent writer and her stories are captivating about the great history of Naperville. Writing a book has always seemed like something out of reach for me but with all of the different options available out there it is totally feasible for me to be an Author - not to mention the value it will bring to my business. Thank you Kate and Don for giving this excellent presentation on Why to write a book (whether professional or personal) and How easy it is to publish your book! I will certainly be at your next discussion.

My first books were about Illinois history, both for children and adults. I have spoken to school and community groups about Illinois history and the writing process. Based on my experiences, I published "Book Rookie," a tips-and-checklist book for new authors taking their first marketing steps. I also blog regularly about digital marketing, writing, and history. Together with husband Don Gingold, I have owned and operated Gnu Ventures Company since 1996. We migrated all of our web development work over to Sprocket Websites, but Gnu Ventures continues to be our media production company for book writing, book publishing, and voice-over work.
