I worked with young people in Key Stages 2 and 3, all of whom had a diagnosis of autism as their priority need, alongside additional needs such as social, emotional & mental health needs (SEMH). I worked 1-2-1 with students, in small groups and provided class support. I mainly worked in the advertising department, organising and overseeing the smooth running of advertising across 10 different magazines and liaising with different departments and positions. Initially employed for general administration within the sales department, I was increasingly given more responsibility, to include selling digital and print advertising. This was in addition to a full range of administrative tasks. The team was small, working proportionately across a large number of publications, meaning deadlines were tight, requiring effective time-management and a calm approach. Show less

My responsibilities included restocking and working quickly and efficiently on the tills. I have excellent communication skills developed through working in a team and helping customers. I sold add-on purchases, such as chocolate and bags, to meet targets. I was also organised as I multitasked. My responsibilities included restocking and working quickly and efficiently on the tills. I enjoyed my time at Ilex as I completed a variety of tasks. I sorted and packaged books to be sent worldwide, which involved being independent and organised. I uploaded relevant reviews to Amazon, undertook research for a future book about writing blogs, and was introduced to proofreading a manuscript. I also proofread dot-to-dot books and was invited back to be paid freelance for this. I completed a 3000 dot-to-dot of the Mona Lisa which involved great attention to detail with my magnifying glass, and having a strong visual sense as I pointed out colour deficiencies as some dots were too faint to be seen clearly. I also fact checked a book about atlases Show less

I initiated the shadowing of the Marketing manager as I was keen to know more about digital marketing. Whilst at Oban I completed research for a future blog post, and wrote automated tweets and Facebook posts about the company and worldwide celebrations in December and January. I wrote and researched articles for the newspaper which were published. I chased up stories via email, social media or using a professional telephone manner, whilst being polite and organised. As I was working to a close deadline, I had to be reliable and telephone people at certain times, and write up stories professionally and accurately.
