Nightwatch desk workers help maintain safety by checking and scanning IDs of students and guests entering Hamlin and Vandenberg Halls between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day. Job duties include: -working one early shift (8 p.m. - 1 a.m.) and one late shift (1 - 5 a.m.) every week (Sunday-Thursday), along with two shifts every other weekend (Friday-Saturday).-arriving promptly at 7:45/9:45 p.m. to set up the Nightwatch station (late shift may begin breaking down their station no earlier than 5 a.m.)-checking the validity of residence hall students by swiping their student ID and checking their picture, and signing in all students/guests who do not live in the residence halls community with the proper ID-attending one Nightwatch meeting per month, and any other scheduled training/meetings -respecting the rights of other students and staff, as well as providing the kind of living environment that is conducive to successful academic achievement and personal development-wearing Nightwatch t-shirts or sweatshirts while on duty (review the Housing Staff Attire Policy in the staff manual) -keeping Nightwatch stations/office tidy, free from food and trash, and stocked with appropriate documentation forms-abiding by the Clery Act and reporting crime on campus -acting in accordance with all Housing staff policies as outlined in the staff manual Show less
