In 2017, Myer partnered with Marketplacer to create a curated lifestyle destination, The Myer Market. The platform was a response to a fiercely competitive retail market and Myer’s ongoing challenges to grow market share without the need to hold or ship extra stock. This new and separate ecommerce platform was a solution that would broaden the direction of the traditional business, whilst retaining and supporting their loyal, fashion-oriented Myer One members. The Myer Market facilitated endless aisles and a dropship system, which in turn provided rapid, no-risk growth opportunities. The original intent was to eventually integrate the marketplace with myer.com.au, which was successfully completed in 2019. In 2017 they were implementing their marketplace strategy, in partnership with Marketplacer. I worked closely with the Myer team to develop their overall marketplace strategy, including USP, commercial offer, go-to-market plan, merchandise and seller strategy. I participated in the software implementation, including site design and build from concept to go-live; developed the marketplace operations team, including sales/business development, seller account management, marketing, and customer service, whilst maintaining strong stakeholder management. The success of the full-stack marketplace, ensured continued stakeholder support as the marketplace migrated to myer.com.au.

Time-out to focus on the biggest role of my life - becoming a mother. Skills learnt - endless patience, nurturing growth and development, surviving off minimal sleep with no prospect for time-off... Whilst cliched, my child is indeed my greatest teacher. It was a privilege to have had the gift of time before heading back in to the workforce. Time-out to focus on the biggest role of my life - becoming a mother. Despite ceasing operations in 2018, Roger David's impact on the Australian fashion industry and its loyal customers remains significant. During my time at Roger David, I began my career in the fashion buying office, starting from the ground up after graduating from university. Embracing the challenges and resilience required in the competitive industry, I consistently aimed for continual improvement both personally and commercially. As an Assistant Buyer, I quickly progressed within six months, earning the responsibility of managing the accessories and womenswear category despite the company's primary focus on menswear. Recognizing my capabilities, I was entrusted with overseeing the fastest-growing segment of mens casual wear, managing all categories including denim, knitwear, and accessories. I played a pivotal role in the successful launch of the casual brand RDX, contributing to its branding and strategic development. This experience allowed me to actively participate in various aspects of the buying process, including buying trips, product development, range planning, and order placement in China. Reporting directly to the General Manager within a small buying team, I fostered close collaboration and made impactful decisions. My tenure at Roger David provided me with invaluable insights into the retail industry, sharpening my skills in trend analysis, range execution, and supplier relationship management.
